To make the Remnant Series, I first folded sheets of Khadi paper, made of cotton remnants from textile factories in India. I then transferred lines from the blueprint of a house in which my parents had lived. Finally, using the folded grid lines as a matrix, I painted lines that intersected the folds. Folds, transfers and paint all became part of the paper’s tactile storyline.
